Heroes and Monsters 2
The first half of this class will be on the tales and fables of the Northern European. These tales have traveled to the United States and the students are familiar with these tales. But a lot of time we hear the watered down or Disney versions that are similar but not the same as the original. We will use the Brothers Grimm's stories.
The second half of the quarter will be devoted to Japanese Folklore and Fables. Here is a site with many of Japanese stories.
Due 6-5: The students will be presenting their Japanese fables to the class. All parents are welcome to come and listen to the wonderful stories told hundreds of years ago in Japan, retold today in Mr. Gamble's class. Reminder that your projects are also due at the time that you tell the story.
