What is "Street Academics"?

Street Academics was formed during my second year teaching 6th grade biology in Las Vegas Nevada while students were working quietly on their own.  On my desk was my rhyme book and my teacher's edition.  While writing in my rhyme book, I happened to glance at my teacher's edition and started rhyming about what was in it.  At that very moment I wrote my first song "Habitats and Ecosystems".  When the song was finished, I stood before the class to recite it.  The response from the students gave birth to "Street Academics"
